Masters' Class in the TRAINING of Motivational Interviewing

2-day workshop

Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th May 2020
Sophia Gardens Stadium, Cardiff, Wales

This workshop is the culmination of discussions within the MINT UK & Ireland Chapter in which a desire to hold a two-day workshop that focuses specifically on refreshing training approaches used in the training of Motivational Interviewing has been expressed. The 'masters' class' workshop is intended for trainers who are members of MINT & MI enthusiasts (no membership of MINT required) who wish to continue to build upon their learning of creative training approaches in the pursuit of effectively influencing the development of skilful MI practice. NB - it is assumed that those attending will be training others in MI and therefore MI competent.

The workshop will focus on:

  • Exploring our individual strengths and weaknesses as trainers of MI
  • Sharing our expertise and deepening our learning in the creative space of this masters' group
  • Developing a greater understanding of the evidence base supporting the learning of MI
  • Considering new insights and developments that make learning more productive

This is a not-for-profit event that rests on the generosity of members and MI enthusiasts to share their ideas and training practices. The shared responsibility to design and deliver sessions helps registration fees low whilst ensuring the MINT UL & Ireland Chapter can cover venue and administration costs. The event will also include contributions from Professor Stephen Rollnick, Terri Moyers and David Rosengren.
