This one-day workshop will be of interest to professionals in healthcare, education, sport, and many other fields looking to develop more effective and empathic communication skills, and to help the people in your organisations to grow and develop.
In this workshop you will be introduced to practical techniques to enhance your communication with clients, foster better team dynamics, and create a more collaborative work environment.
The workshop will include:
An overview of Motivational Interviewing
The core skills and spirit of MI and how these together can enhance communication
The four tasks in Motivational Interviewing and how these can guide helpful conversations
A framework for offering skillful feedback, advice, and guidance.
A wide range of learning methods will be used to create an enjoyable atmosphere for learning and sharing ideas. These will include demonstration, videos, brief content lectures, discussion, and focused practice.

This in-person workshop will be held at Glamorgan Cricket, a world-class cricket stadium and events space set amidst the beautiful grounds of Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. The training will take place in the Amber Lounge, full of natural light with floor to ceiling windows and panoramic views of the hallowed turf of the international cricket grounds.
Refreshments will be served in the Pyramid Suite during registration, mid-morning and afternoon breaks, and a fresh hot buffet will be served for lunch by the venue’s dedicated chefs. Onsite parking is available (limited, pre-booking required) and the venue is within walking distance of Cardiff city centre, train station and bus routes.
